The Glens Falls Area Youth Center is proud to be a recipient of a grant from the Glens Falls Foundation.
With the $5,850 the Youth Center will be resealing the driveway and parking lot, gym floor maintenance and the resurfacing of our three pool tables.

GLENS FALLS — Matt Congdon has been director at the Glens Falls Area Youth Center for more than 20 years. He got the post after a group of teens, acting on their own behalf, approached the City Council and asked that the acting director not return from her maternity leave. They liked Congdon, a 25-year-old fresh out of Springfield College who was assisting at the time, and wanted him in charge.

Hudson River Community Credit Union’s (HRCCU) Third Annual Golf Classic to benefit the Glens Falls Area Youth Center will be held on Friday August 14, 2009 at the Kingswood Golf Club in Hudson Falls, New York.
The Glens Falls Area Youth Center, founded in 1968, offers a comprehensive Youth Services and Recreation Program designed to enhance the lives of disadvantaged youth ages 10-18. The Youth Center is the only teen drop-in facility of its kind in the area and is open throughout the year. The Center provides a safe, well supervised environment where teenagers can enjoy the company of their peers and avoid feelings of intimidation. The Youth Center promotes an educational atmosphere requiring participants to be enrolled in school, working towards a GED, or involved in Vo-Tech training. The Center supplies good role models, reinforces positive social behavior and all programs are offered free of charge!
Please join us for a fun-filled day of golf with great company, lunch, barbecue dinner, prizes and a wonderful opportunity to make lives better for disadvantaged youth in our region. The golfer’s cost for the Classic is only $105 per person and covers golf fees, cart beverages on the course, goodie bag, lunch and barbecue dinner. Mulligans will be available for an additional cost!
