Love Where You Live
The Glens Falls area has so much to offer during every season of the year. One staple in the community is the weekly Glens Falls Farmers’ Market! This market provides locally grown produce, homemade crafts, and other unique goods provided by fellow members of the community. During the warmer months you can catch the Glens Falls Farmers’ Market at the South Street Pavilion every Saturday from 8am-12pm, and after October 31st it moves indoors to the Sanford Street School from 9am-12pm.
Visiting the farmers’ market is free, and you can often catch some great live musicians as you travel the aisles of items for sale. If you do choose to purchase anything, it is great to know that you are supporting fellow members of our community. So many people in our area make a living from farming or selling artisanal products, and this is the perfect way to patronize a local business while trying some delicious and creative items (the honey is one of my personal favorites).
At the Youth Center we have a wonderful community of friends, and we encourage all of our kids to take advantage of the sense of community that is also available to them outside the walls of the YC. Getting involved doesn’t always mean spending money and purchasing tickets, sometimes a free stroll through the vendors at events like the Glens Falls Farmers’ Market is an opportunity to meet your neighbors and learn about the perks we have living where we do. So grab your mask, grab a friend, and take a stroll down to the South Street market this Saturday! For more info, check out their website at https://www.glensfallsfarmersmarket.com/ .
